Serenity Mesa Tour
On August 7, 2018, U.S. Attorney John C. Anderson toured Serenity Mesa. Serenity Mesa is a long-term transitional living center for young people ages 14-21 who struggle with drug and alcohol addiction. Serenity Mesa is owned and operated by Healing Addiction in Our Community, a non-profit organization formed to provide education and support to families and communities fighting to end opiate addiction among teens and young adults. Press Conference: Opioids, Alcohol and Athletes Video Release
On August 16, 2018, U.S. Attorney John C. Anderson held a press conference on short-videos aimed at educating student athletes, parents and coaches about the dangers of opioids and alcohol to be distributed statewide as the school year begins. The videos are a collaborative project of the Bernalillo County Department of Behavioral Health, the New Mexico Activities Association (NMAA), the New Mexico Parent Teachers Association (PTA), and Christopher Productions, LLC.
